At our Academy level, there will continue to be a significant emphasis at this level on ball-manipulating skills, but our coaches also begin to focus on passing, defending and other fundamentals of the game. As our players progress, our training will incorporate basic soccer moves, will teach the control of the ball under pressure and at higher speed of play and will help our players become familiar with soccer terminology. Before graduating from our program, participants also begin to understand the basic responsibilities of position and show tactical awareness of group play.

Practice sessions will be held two times a week, and players are encouraged to attend two sessions each week to benefit the most from the program. Each training session will be for one hour.

At our training sessions, our players will be subdivided into at least two groups to permit differentiated instruction between intermediate and more advanced players. Players may be further divided based upon gender or playing level for training purposes. Our Academy is designed primarily for players in the U-7 through U-8 age groups, but older players are allowed to participate (up to U-12) with the coach’s permission.

The structure of our Academy will allow our players to participate in a recreational league to get extra opportunities for Saturday play if desired. The Academy Program will begin on March 6th and will run through May 24th.

Registration Fees

The fee schedule for the Academy is designed to be affordable and to allow our players to participate in a recreational league if they should choose. The fee is $120 per season and includes the cost of a training t-shirt.

Location and Times

Tuesdays (5:30 - 6:30 pm) at Lakeshore and Thursdays (5:30 - 6:30 pm) at Bearden Adaptive.
